{"id":2965,"date":"2012-12-18T07:57:25","date_gmt":"2012-12-18T15:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/blog\/carmenelectrode\/?p=2965"},"modified":"2016-06-07T06:29:39","modified_gmt":"2016-06-07T13:29:39","slug":"carmens-favorite-tig-welding-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.arc-zone.com\/carmenelectrode\/2012\/12\/18\/carmens-favorite-tig-welding-things\/","title":{"rendered":"Carmen&#8217;s Favorite (TIG Welding) Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It didn&#8217;t start with welding, or TIG welding; it started in 1965 with <em>The Sound of Music<\/em> and Julie Andrews:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"My Favorite Things - Julie Andrews\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/33o32C0ogVM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The song soon became a holiday classic and has been recorded by many well known artists: The Supremes, Sarah Vaughn, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Anita Baker, Dave Brubeck, Barry Manilow, Bjork, and even more recently featured on the show GLEE\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oprah.com\/gift-list\/Oprahs-Favorite-Things-2012\" target=\"_blank\">Oprah Winfrey jumped on the bandwagon (ok, yes, it was years later) with her favorite things<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And now Carmen Electrode wants to share her favorite (welding) things with you.\u00a0 These would be great gifts for that special welder in your life\u2026\u00a0 or good to put on your list of favorite things in case anyone wants to buy you a gift that supports you in your welding life.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=597_844_1881_1936&amp;products_id=9508\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Digital Elite Fury Welding Helmet\" src=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/azc-scip\/Miller_Digital_Elite_Fury_Welding_Helmet_256158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a>One of my favorite things these days is my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=597_844_1881_1936&amp;products_id=9508\" target=\"_blank\">Digital Elite Fury Auto Darkening Welding Helmet<\/a>. \u00a0It&#8217;s not the cheapest welding helmet you can find, but then again my eye protection is worth it! \u00a0This welding helmet has precision digital control driven by four independent arc sensors and lithium batteries that will last for 3,000 \u00a0hours! \u00a0(You can check out all the technical specs over on the Arc-Zone.com website.) \u00a0The other reason I like this \u00a0helmet is its look. \u00a0Yes, it&#8217;s pink, but it&#8217;s a strong, rich, dark pink that means business&#8230;. \u00a0and the graphics are pretty hot too. \u00a0Of course, if this is not for you, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=index&amp;cPath=597_844\" target=\"_blank\">Arc-Zone has lots of top-of-the-line welding helmets<\/a> to choose from, and this handy guide on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/pdf\/ChoosingWeldingHelmetsGoggles.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Choosing Welding Helmets and Goggles (pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=index&amp;cPath=11_587\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" title=\"Remote Amp Control for TIG welding\" src=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/azc-scip\/A-MFC-14.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a>Another accessory I really like is the remote amperage controls for welding far from your machine. I especially like the \u00a0Hot Foot\u2122, it&#8217;s rugged and has a low profile design that is comfortable and allows for precision adjustments. \u00a0So while my foot takes control of the amperage, I can better concentrate on my handwork to lay down nice beads.<\/p>\n<p>You can hook up these pedals to your Miller, Lincoln, or ESAB machine, no problem.<\/p>\n<p>Arc-Zone also carries a full line of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=index&amp;cPath=11\" target=\"_blank\">remote amp controls, from fingertip amperage controls that attach to your TIG welding torch to on-off switches and all the connectors and adapters<\/a> you&#8217;ll need to plug in and go!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=page&amp;id=62&amp;chapter=0\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"WP 50 air-cooled Micro TIG welding torch\" src=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/images\/MicroProH.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"144\" height=\"101\" \/><\/a>Now if you&#8217;re really working where there is restricted access to your weld, you&#8217;ll want to take a look at my favorite, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arc-zone.com\/index.php?main_page=page&amp;id=62&amp;chapter=0\" target=\"_blank\">tiniest of TIG torches, the Micro TIG<\/a>.
