This has to be my favorite topic post ever from the\u00a0Miller Discussion Boards<\/a>. It started\u00a0three years<\/em> ago, and amazingly, continues up until, probably whenever you’re reading this! From the over five hundred responses I picked out twenty of my favorites – see if you recognize any!<\/p>\n

You Might Be a Welder If…<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • you’re in the truck and halfway home when it finally dawns on you that you still have you’re tig gloves on –2much2do<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • when working out at the gym, you spend more time examining the welds on the gym equipment than you do actually using the equipment \u2013\u00a0NewMexSmoke<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you examine the welds on a car to determine whether to buy it or not –\u00a0metalmeltr<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • the smell of argon and scorched clothing are nostalgic \u2013\u00a0arc~angel<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you can tell what part of you is on fire just by the smell – \u00a0raserspeed<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • your safety boots could be used for tap dancing because of all the molten metal imbeded in their sole –Bubblemaker<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • your jeans are starting to rust \u2013\u00a0welderman23<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you measure the rods you’ve burned in tons –\u00a0triggerman<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • everybody at the weld supplier knows you by the sound of your voice when you call –\u00a0BartsArcs<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • when you see a fire your first reaction is to put it out with your hands \u2013\u00a0steel n bones<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you sit in the living room with a propane torch on the coffe table using it to make smores –\u00a0turboglenn<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you get splatter\/grind dust in your coffee but you drink it anyway –\u00a0Gnarcissist<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you have the needed concentration to weld while wearing flip-flops! \u2013 \u00a0linas58<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • your wife finds all of her pots and pans in one of your sculptures \u2013\u00a0welder_guy<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you’ve ever set your Boss on fire \u2013 MattT<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you can identify different stick electrodes by their smell \u2013\u00a0Marcel Bauer<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you have more welding hoods than your wife has shoes \u2013\u00a0GilaSlim<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • you have done the one footed hop from the hot sparks that fell into your boot and down between your toes –jhwelder<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • your clothes catch on fire more than once a day<\/span> \u2013 richcharles<\/strong><\/li>\n
