Well yesterday, our brightest planet, Venus, passed right in front of the sun for nearly seven hours.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.arc-zone.com\/joewelder\/wp-content\/new_ups\/Venus.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3803\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.arc-zone.com\/joewelder\/wp-content\/new_ups\/Venus-300x253.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.arc-zone.com\/joewelder\/wp-content\/new_ups\/Venus-300x253.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.arc-zone.com\/joewelder\/wp-content\/new_ups\/Venus.jpg 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And in case you missed it, no need to worry. This rare event will occur again on\u00a0 December 11, 2117. So don\u2019t forget to mark it in your great-grand children&#8217;s calendar.\u00a0 But what does all of this have to do with welding? Because staring at the sun for several hours attempting to witness Venus\u2019s transition can cause blindness. So thousands of spectators needed No. 14 welder\u2019s glass to protect their eyes against the suns harmful ultraviolet rays.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.arc-zone.com\/joewelder\/wp-content\/new_ups\/No-14.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
