The time has come for us to introduce to you the eldest of the Mishler Brothers,\u00a0Nick Mishler, AKA @mishler_made_fab on Instagram. He’s an amazingly creative guy and he’s got the skills to match. We are proud to call Nick the\u00a0fourth\u00a0member\u00a0of the<\/span>\u00a0Arc-Zone Pro Partnership<\/a>!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nick\u00a0may not admit it, but his imagination and follow through are literally off the hook! He’s a down to earth gentleman that only wants to drive our industry forward while showcasing his steps along the way. If you’ve been following the Arc-Zone Pro Partners, you’ll see some major resemblance to our very first Pro<\/span> Partner,\u00a0Wes Mishler<\/a>.\u00a0Yes, they are twins. Who could possibly resist the ultimate Tag Team of Professionalism? \u00a0I know we couldn’t…\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q:\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span>How old were you when you first got into welding and what initially sparked your interest?<\/i><\/b><\/h4>\n

A:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>I was about 15 years old, and with my dad being the DIY type, he had various pieces of equipment at the house. \u00a0He was the one that really helped spark my first Arcs… \u00a0One of my first projects that never got completed was a dune buggy frame. Motorsports was another motivator as well…<\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0How did you get your training? Educational experience\/work experience?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Training at home with my dad was the foundation and then onto shop classes in high school. Next, moved on to the local Lansing Community College taking courses in welding 101 which covered Stick and Oxy Fuel welding processes. \u00a0Then onto the beginning courses of TIG welding. The rest is on the job training at a structural steel company based in Davison, Michigan where I used many different welding processes for about 2 years. \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Where do you work now?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:\u00a0<\/b>I am currently employed with Dedoes Innovative Mfg in MI, \u00a0where I am basically a production manager. I am responsible for work flow through the welding shop, time management of shop employees, and handling all quality control as well. \u00a0If there’s a weld that doesn’t meet my standards, I kick it back until it’s perfect.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0What\u2019s your favorite part of the job?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:\u00a0<\/b>Interacting with customers and learning about their up and coming projects through conceptual designs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q<\/strong>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/i>What\u2019s the biggest welding challenge you\u2019ve ever faced?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Every Damn day is a challenge with all the different aspects of what it takes to build something. One in particular was a Stainless steel VLC water air stripper. It was by the far the most challenging project I’ve encountered so\u00a0far. With its overall massive size and different weldments and assembly challenges. Also, with the design being just in the design\/concept form and it never being built before – added to the complexity of the build.<\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0What\u2019s the most fun you\u2019ve ever had working on a welding project?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:\u00a0<\/b>The most fun I’ve had on a welding project started around the holidays of 2013. Signing up for my Instagram account and opening the door to the welding community I didn’t even know existed. I was blown away with me being able to connect with people from around the world through the fusion of metal. It’s amazing to be able to share and showcase your welds and receive an abundance of feedback on your personal welding signature. I am totally amazed with the support and drive of the welding community. Between Instagram and being apart of the Arc-Zone Pro Partnership, I can honestly say the fun has only just begun.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/i>What kind of music do you listen to while welding?<\/i><\/span><\/h4>\n

A:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Anything and Everything. When you’re in the shop for as much time as I put in… \u00a0You hear a lot of repeated music so as long as there is noise with beats – I’m good.<\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0And for the most important question\u2026. Tell us what your favorite drink is?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:\u00a0<\/b>Ice cold King of ALL Beers, Budweiser… \u00a0But if it’s Poker time with the bros, it’s Monster and Jagger baby..<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0Do you have any hobbies on the side?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Family time is my biggest hobby but another one of my most favorite things to do is getting on my 4 wheeler and taking off on the back roads around my house in MI. \u00a0If I’m not riding, I’m Pew Pewing with my AR-15. \u00a0Otherwise, it’s family time…<\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0Where do you see yourself and\/or your business in the next ten years?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0In ten years I do still see myself working for Dedeos, unless I am able to build myself my own business. It’s a dream I hope to one day turn into a reality.<\/p>\n

Q:<\/i><\/span>\u00a0Who do you look up to in the industry?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:\u00a0<\/b>I honestly look up to my brother Wes Mishler. \u00a0I know this may come off as being sappy with a hint of warm and fuzzies but the quality of his craftsmanship and professionalism I learn from Daily. He exudes a level of skill and confidence many can learn from. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q:<\/span>\u00a0<\/i><\/strong>Last but not least, what advice would you give to folks just starting out?<\/i><\/h4>\n

A:<\/b>\u00a0The one thing I repeat over and over to all new welders is Practice, Practice, Practice. \u00a0Nothing can substitute time under the hood. \u00a0The only way you will move forward is accepting constructive criticism and moving forward with it. Some techniques will not work for all so find the technique that works best for you and Practice, Practice, Practice. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
