One of our most popular TIG Torch accessories is the Gas Saver™ series from CK Worldwide. The gas saver is a modernized version of the traditional gas lens collet and collet body, engineered with some real performance advantages which translates into some real savings in weld performance and gas usage.
Performance Advantages of the Gas Saver™
The TIG welding process by nature generates a certain amount of arczone spatter that over time can build up on the stainless steel screens in your traditional gas lens collet body.
Spatter build up will affect the flow patterns, and in some cases restrict the flow of shield gas—at that point (because the screens are not replaceable) you basically scrap the entire gas lens collet body and install a new one– which costs money and takes time.
The Gas Saver™ series is engineered as a modular assembly as opposed to the traditional gas lens with its machined components and series of screens pressed into place. The Gas Saver uses a replaceable tungsten screen adapter. In other words, if you damage the screens you can simply replace the screen component, saving you time and money.
Additionally, the Gas Saver design delivers an extremely efficient distribution of shield gas for a more consistent weld and, you’ll use less shielding gas which is the most expensive part of TIG welding.
With the Gas Saver’s efficient distribution of gas you’ll also experience better flow characteristics and less turbulence over the weld zone, which is highly beneficial when welding metals like titanium and stainless steel.

The Gas Saver kit and Pyrex® nozzle installed on your TIG torch is much lighter, when compared to a traditional gas lens collet body and alumina nozzle, the lighter weight makes it easier to handle and maneuver your TIG torch, which is critical to achieving consistent high-quality welds.
